Local Members


Getting to and from meetings in Nassau is do-able. With good directions a Taxi can take you anywhere while the local transport service called Jitney (J-it-ny) is a public bus route at $1 a ride during daylight hours. Local AA members are often happy to offer visitors transport back to hotel.

Jitney buses are numbered and run randomly about every 20 minutes or so. Catch Jitney bus #10 along the main street west to go from Cable Beach to Downtown. In town bus departures are from specific locations. Downtown westard bus pools on George near Shirley St. Catch bus #1 at Parliament & Bay Streets to go to AA Club House on Rosetta Street or NA Club House on Mount Royal & Winchester St.'s. Tell the Jitney bus driver your destination with street name & he'll tell you when to get off.
NOTE: Jitney's do not go over the Paradise Island bridge.
